How to make an NFC gift
An NFC gift is a small sticker that opens a private page — your photos, voice, video or letter — when someone taps it with a phone. You need: one NTAG213/215 sticker (a few dollars a pack), five minutes to build the page, and about ten seconds to write the tag. No app for the person receiving it.
What you need
- ♡ One NTAG213 or NTAG215 sticker — any pack online works (a few dollars). Which chip?
- ♡ Your content — photos, a voice memo, or a video on your phone
- ♡ A phone to write with — Android writes in the browser; iPhone takes a free 90-second app detour
The build, step by step
- Pick a format. Voice ($1.9), Photo ($2.9), Story ($4.9), Video ($7.9), or the AI cartoon birthday party ($6.9). Compare templates — no account until you publish.
- Add your content. Upload photos, record or paste audio, write your letter. Everything autosaves as a draft.
- Publish and get your link. You'll get a private URL plus a printable QR code.
- Write the tag. Android: one tap from our free writer. iPhone: the 90-second guide.
- Stick it on the gift. Inside a card, on the box, under the cake plate — anywhere flat.
What it costs (real numbers)
- · NTAG stickers: ~$0.30–0.60 each in a 10-pack
- · tapboop gift page: $1.9–7.9 one-time (free during our open test, 90-day hosting included)
- · Total per gift: usually under $9 — physical NFC greeting cards sell for $15+
What can go wrong
- · iPhone writing: browsers can't write NFC on iOS — use the app method, or write it on any Android first.
- · Metal surfaces: NFC dies on metal. Stick on paper, wood, plastic — or get on-metal tags.
- · Locked tags: a tag written read-only is permanent. We never lock your tag, so you can rewrite it yourself.
